Music Time! “Non-Synth” Edition 10/22/16

20160928_233341

So it’s 3:30 in the morning and I’m still up. I’m tired, but my legs are bothering me (nerves from my car wreck and subsequent back surgery) and I’m out of meds. So I’m drinking alcohol as that helps calm the nerves down (I wish we had medical marijuana in Texas as that would really help).

In the meantime… some music. Most of the times I concentrate on synth-based music (Electro, EBM, Futurepop, Synthpop, Synthwave, etc), but tonight I’m going to tell MediaMonkey to ignore all those genres and play non-synth music.

I saw this band in Birmingham, Alabama a few years ago when they played with IAMX.

Music Time! “Peace & Harmony” Edition. 7/8/16

19920508_001 Train ride to Paris

It’s been a brutal few days for violence, racial tension, and hatred. I was supposed to be at a show tonight (sorry Adoration Destroyed and element a440), but when we got home I was just mentally exhausted. I’m not giving up, but I need some peace, harmony, unity, and in the back of my head I know those kind of goals are wishful thinking. Plenty of Facebook “friends” proved that over the past few days with their racist comments. Sigh… well, at least there’s music…

So music about peace and harmony it is.

2014, Thank You for the Music!

Man Listening to HeadphonesI usually put this out at the end of the year, but I still had some music to import into my library and wanted to make sure I had everyone on the list!

2014 was a great year for music. It wasn’t as an amazing year as 2013 was for quantity, but what it lacked in quantity it certainly made up for with quality. A lot of great bands that I love put out new music in 2014.

Bauhaus

“God In An Alcove” by Bauhaus.

Words by Daniel Ash and music by Bauhaus. © 1998 4AD.
Thanks to Dragon for the song suggestion!

Listen to this song!

Go and look for the dejected
Once proud idol remembered in stone aloud
Then on coins his face was mirrored
Take a look it soon hath slithered
To a fractured marble slab, renunciation clad
His nourishment extract from his subjects, subjects
That mass production profile

He’s a God in an alcove

Once he spread the rain
So they dreamt in vain
Once he spread the wheat
Had made some garlands for his feet
Until the lily poet of our times
Horizoned on the line
Love became the in theme then
Opposing fakers thrice by ten
Don’t perceive his empty plea
That redundant effigy

He’s a God in an alcove

Take in view his empty stool
What’s left is satin cool
Clawing adornment for his crimes
They saw they had to draw the line
So they sent him far away
So they sent him far away
To a little alcove
To a little alcove
All alone

He’s a God, a God

Now I am silly
Now I am silly
Silly, silly, silly, silly
Silly
