It’s music time again! Why do I do this? Well, in the hopes of introducing people to new synth-based music (EBM, Futurepop, Synthpop, Synthwave, Darkwave, Industrial, Industrial Dance, Electro, etc). Tonight is Boom Boom Palace (A Night of Synthpop) at Elysium Austin! So in honor of tonight… I’m posting some synthesizer music!
Synthpop is the grandparent of a lot of modern music (yes, even Top 40). From early bands, the influence on New Wave, New Age, and into the future with Futurepop, EBM, and yes, even things like Trance, Dance, and EDM. Industrial and Industrial Dance all have roots in synthpop and thanks to the guys who started playing with electronic sounds and instruments so many decades ago. And now we’re seeing a Synthpop Revival and it’s amazing!!!
