It’s been a brutal few days for violence, racial tension, and hatred. I was supposed to be at a show tonight (sorry Adoration Destroyed and element a440), but when we got home I was just mentally exhausted. I’m not giving up, but I need some peace, harmony, unity, and in the back of my head I know those kind of goals are wishful thinking. Plenty of Facebook “friends” proved that over the past few days with their racist comments. Sigh… well, at least there’s music…
So music about peace and harmony it is.

Tonight is Boom Boom Palace (A Night of Synthpop) at Elysium Austin! So in honor of tonight… I’m posting some synthesizer music!
Synthpop is the grandparent of a lot of modern music (yes, even Top 40). From early bands, the influence on New Wave, New Age, and into the future with Futurepop, EBM, and yes, even things like Trance, Dance, and EDM. Industrial and Industrial Dance all have roots in synthpop and thanks to the guys who started playing with electronic sounds and instruments so many decades ago. And now we’re seeing a Synthpop Revival and it’s amazing!!!
So I’m posting songs from the beginnings to the modern movement of the synthesizer!
